Devyn Leighton is a Canadian storyteller, poet, and essayist who pulls back the curtain on what it means to be human—writing about love, loss, survival, and the things we usually don't share. A survivor of assault, she learned healing isn't a destination, but the daily act of choosing herself.
In doing so, she created a body of work where others could recognize their own scars, small victories, and realize they are not alone.
She is also the founder of The Alchemist's Cabin, a magazine on Substack that publishes real, human-made fiction, art, and poetry.

Want to become my muse?
Scraps is a collection of poetry using prompts, stories, wishes, even single words from my followers. I had so much fun that I am going to do it again!
This is both a creative project and a school fund, paid subscriptions and donations are deeply, wildly appreciated—and they will be prioritized when choosing prompts to turn into poems.
Every paid subscription, every tip, every little coin dropped into the jar helps me pay for books, fees, tuition, and the cost of becoming the person I have worked so hard to reach.
To learn more about The Muse Jar, you can read the annoucement post.
